Well we had an enjoyable turkey day. We visited with family, ate too much, and now are getting back in the swing of things at school. I am learning about the usefulness of my right thumb, as it now has four stitches in it from where I was cutting some chicken and missed the chicken. It's amazing the things you use your thumb for. I'm almost done with christmas shopping and I can't wait for christmas this year. I've had so much fun shopping for friends and family this year. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive. I love finding just the right gift and seeing the smile that bursts forth when they open it.

Learning patience
Oh my what an interesting weekend we have had. It seems that bad things wait to happen until you have limited resources. On friday Jamie broke his only pair of glasses and had to go get an eye exam and a new set of contact lenses, which coincidentally drained a large portion of the funds in our bank account. However, there was some good in the bad, fortunately Jamie was able to get a free pair of trial lenses to hold us over till payday, so he can see :) On Saturday I had a wonderful afternoon going to the park with our neighbors to play. We threw the frisbee, baseball, and a random tennis ball, and Jamie let the kids chase him around the park tiring both him and the children out completely. Sunday my jeans tore from the belt loop down to the leg of the jeans. This was a rather odd occurence considering I had bought the jeans from a trusted company, and they were only a couple of months old. Fortunately the company exchanged the jeans, and the only catch was we had to bring them to Jackson. Weellllllllll we took them to jackson and on the way back, what happens, we have a flat tire. Somehow in there, we managed to get in touch with family and my mom helped us get a tire for the car, so we managed to make it back here by monday afternoon, and here I am in the library working on homework (or managing to avoid working on it). All in all it's been a pretty interesting weekend. In the midst of our unfortunate occurences we had some good things happen. Jamies glasses broke yes, but he's been wanting contacts for a while so now we have a prescription for both new contacts and glasses. The tire went flat yes, but as a result we got to visit with my family and I was forced to relax without my books. So somewhere in our seemingly bad luck I'm learning patience and how to look at the brighter side of things. Hopefully this week will continue looking at the glass half full.

babysitting
I kept my neighbors little boy tonight, and we made cookies together. I have enjoyed an evening watching Charlie Brown and A Troll in Central Park with a 3 year old, and a fish. This poor fish, it's a miracle I noticed it when I did. Stacey has been rather busy lately and she forgot about this poor fish and he was sitting in a tupperware bowl where he's been for a couple of days while she was intending to clean out the fishbowl. We cleaned out the bowl and freed the fish from the tupperware, and I swear I saw the fish smile. He was so happy he just swam around in his big bowl as if he was celebrating. Following the freedom of the fish, I am currently working on homework and I decided to take a break and blog a little bit. Talk later

Another busy week
Today is the start of another busy week for me. I had an enjoyable weekend visiting with friends, and we went trick or treating with our neighbor and her son. He wore a blow up frog suit that was adorable. I've started my adult health III clinical rotation so I'm hoping that all will go well with that. I think I'm going to learn a lot with my clinical instructor. I haven't updated my blogspot lately so I apologize, but things have been busy! Hopefully this week will be good for all including me! Everyone remember, tomorrow is Nov. 2, GO VOTE!!!!!

A Day of Rest
Today has been a lazy day for us, and I've really enjoyed it. We slept late, I made brunch, and then we went to get some christmas shopping done. I've almost finished shopping for my family, so I'm getting ahead of the game. I've bought stuff for everyone in my family except my husband so I've only got big gifts left to buy. I'm looking forward to the upcoming holiday season! All Sunday's should be like today, a day of rest.

Weekend happenings
It's been such a busy week. I went to nursing convention on Thursday and participated in some interesting workshops. I got to look at some interesting prospects for job opportunities and continuing my education on a masters level, and I even won a door prize! It was fun. I went to Jackson on Friday and had lunch with my mom and sister. We had a good time visiting, even though my sister lost her job later that afternoon. Just FYI Greenbrooks flowers suck. My sis turned in her two weeks notice at the begining of the week and they got all bent out of shape about it, so on Friday when we went to lunch they decided they would look for a reason to let her go. We left at 12:00 and got back at 12:53 and they let her go saying that she was "four minutes late" coming back from her hour lunch. Crock of $%!& if you ask me but that's just my opinion. I think they should be the recipients of many pranks this halloween because they are creating some bad karma. I went to dinner with friends and hung around in Jackson on Friday night, and today we went to the homecoming game. 51-10 USM's Win!!! MSU won their game today against Florida so this has been a good weekend. I intend to sleep late tomorrow and be lazy for the rest of the day. Hopefully everyone else has been as fortunate as me to have such a pleasant weekend. :-D

Tuesday
Today has been a good day. I got some more Gerontology papers done, and I spent some time with my neighbor Stacey and my friend David. We went to eat chinese for lunch, always a fun experience, and then we chilled at the house and talked for a while. I love those times when you can sit with friends and just talk about stuff. Anything that comes to your mind is game for conversation. Some of the best conversations I can remember are when I was at HCC and me and my buddies would sit in between classes and talk about anything from english lit to cartoons. Good stuff. I got some christmas shopping done this afternoon, so hopefully I won't be so pressed for time in buying gifts for everyone, and I also played superwife and had a GREAT supper prepared for the hubby when he got home from work. I've enjoyed cooking these past couple of days that I haven't had class. So far it's been a good week, with a promising outlook for the rest of the week. Hope all's going well for everyone else :-D

Monday
I got my blog site today! My friend V showed me how so I'm getting started with my blurbs about my life. It's fall break right now at school, so I'm chillin trying to get some of the many papers I have to write finished. Unfortunately there's only so much you can write about gerontology and how it pertains to nursing. I wonder sometimes if the BS degree stands for something beside Bachelors of Science. My hubby has been at work today so it's just me and the puter getting things done. I had a good weekend, got to work on Saturday in the NICU so that was good. Trying to make a little money. Sunday we hung around the house and were lazy. I cooked and wrote papers, got four of the eight due for gerontology done. So that's what's been going on. Talk more later!
